We often talk about hoozyu as if it’s some kind of cure-all panacea. As if, once you get your results, you’ll never feel lost or uncertain again…

And you know what, it’s true to a great extent - hoozyu really can make your life a lot easier, in a whole range of different areas - from relationships to career choices to dealing with the everyday jumble that is your own brain… But that doesn’t mean you won’t still have bad days.

It doesn’t matter how well you understand yourself, there are still going to be times when you feel like everything is going wrong and you don’t know where to go or what to do. You’re going to have days when you get scared and you wonder what on earth you’re doing with your life, or why you chose such-and-such a course, or why you accepted such-and-such a job offer. Life is like that. It’s kinda scary and unpredictable and we can’t always deal with the things it throws at us.

But you know what? It’s the same way for everyone.

We all have things that knock us down, drive us mad, make us feel weak or afraid. What we can do about it is to understand what causes us to experience this stress and anxiety, and why. So that even if we can’t prevent bad days, we can at least understand them and find our way back to where we want to be.

This is one of the ways you can use your hoozyu results.

The easiest place to access the information on your personal Needs and Stress scores is the Stress Check page. Here you’ll find a list of the stress behaviours that you are likely to be struggling with. If you click on one of the descriptions - for example you may see a box that says: I feel demotivated or lacking in energy or enthusiasm - you’ll find a list of reasons why this may be the case for you.

Of course, you may be dealing with stress or anxiety related to something completely different from any of those reasons listed, but chances are that whatever you’re going through may be made worse because one of your own inherent Needs is not being met.

So why not take some time to just breathe, and reflect on what might be the root cause of your stress / anxiety / full-scale meltdown. Is there a legitimate issue that you need to find a way to deal with? Do you need to talk to someone - a friend, parent, mentor - and get practical help? Or have you just got yourself wound up in knots because some aspect of your Needs are not being met?

Sometimes the solution can be as simple as just giving yourself a break, and letting your brain have the time and space to think things through. Other times you may need to consider making practical changes to some aspect of your life in order to prevent on-going issues.

Whatever it is you’re dealing with, understanding yourself, and finding someone to talk to are going to be the best first steps you can make.
